Do not like it when M. Porcius Cato Uticensis is portrayed as an old man. He never got to become an old man, it is a pretty significant thing that happened. Also I just called him babygirl in my head, and yeah. He is the babygirl of the first century bce politics.
He is a little older than Clodius Pulcher. About the same age as Lesbia.
He died at age 49. This is not an old man. You could, however, consider him a milf (in Handel’s version of Catone in Utica especially).

Hi! Today I learned two things about Claudia Pulchra, the first wife of Brutus.
(1) Her sister was married to Cn. Pompeius the younger. I do not think Brutus was happy about it!
(2) Her mother was possibly another Servilia Caepionis, descended from Cn. Caepio q. 105 (cousin of Q. Caepio cos. 106) and therefore not cursed. The possibility is based on a hypothetical identification of Claudius from Cic. Att. 12.20 with Appius Claudius cos. 54 (hypothetical is the word used about it by Shackleton Bailey, Onomasticon to Cicero’s letters). Even if the identification is true, Appius Claudius had more than one wife.
